Save Your Income And Invest It

Gen. 41:25-37

God decides the economic destiny of everyone and every nation on earth. He makes rich or poor and the power to get wealth comes from Him. Egypt, under the leadership of Pharaoh, was the world’s political leader at that time. God revealed what He was about to do with economy of the world to him. What Pharaoh did with the revelation was entirely up to him. In response to a good advice, Joseph was invited to the palace and he made a brief presentation interpreting Pharaoh’s dream and suggesting a financial and investment plan. His advice was that 20% of the nation’s produce during the season of abundance should be saved for investments. Consequently, Joseph was able to secure the 25% economic controlling power over the whole world for Pharaoh through this financial plan. People sold their lands, properties, even themselves to Pharaoh for food.  (Gen. 41:57; 47:13-26). It is not how much you make that makes you wealthy but how much you are able to keep in savings and invest. You need a lot of determination and discipline to save 20% of your income. If you set a financial goal and develop an investment plan for yourself, gratification delayed would be a sweet adventure.

POINT OF EMPHASIS: It is not how much you make that makes you wealthy but how much you are able to save and invest.

PRAYER POINT: Father, give me an opportunity to make money, the grace to be a committed saver and the wisdom to know what to do with my savings.
