Awake To Righteousness
1 Cor. 15:30-34
Many people like Paul have risked their lives for the gospel. They forsook all forms of unrighteousness in order to be counted worthy to be partakers of the resurrection of the just. Someone like Paul had faced beasts, had been flogged with rods, had endured shipwreck, and had been imprisoned. He could have avoided all these ordeals by compromising his righteousness. He is qualified to admonish today’s Christians to awake to righteousness. Today’s Christians have become complacent in the quest for righteousness. We are no longer uncomfortable when surrounded by sin; neither are sinners uncomfortable in our presence. We are no longer effective in discouraging sinners from carrying out their ungodly acts. It is likely that many so called Christians do not really have the knowledge of God.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: Awake to righteousness and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.
PRAYER POINT: Holy Spirit, make my spirit sensitive so that I do not become accommodating to sin.
