Jam. 1:27; Matt. 23:23
One of the woes that Jesus pronounced in the Bible is upon those who claim to have the knowledge of God’s law and religion but who have misplaced divine priorities. One of the priorities stated by God is mercy. The kind of worship that is acceptable before God is such that is visible and has a direct positive impact on those we can see, touch and feel. If we can’t do this for those who we can see, how can we do it to the invisible God? God will call us beloved and accept our worship if we genuinely care for those in need and people who are distressed. There are many today who are diligent in the place of prayers and some other religious activities but are wanting in the matters of mercy for men before God. Let us all go back to the priority, building on the right foundation.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: “You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of ‘showing mercy,’ you find yourselves cared for”.
PRAYER POINT: In the name of Jesus Christ, my priorities are set right. No more will I labour on things which does not matter before God.
