Imitate Christ
Eph. 4:1-3
Paul the Apostle admonished Christians in our passage this morning to do their best to maintain the unity of the Spirit. Ken Sande in his book ‘A Biblical Guide to resolving personal conflict’ by peacemaker (Revised and updated), page 32 says “imitating Jesus in the midst of conflict is the surest path to restoring peace and unity with those who oppose us”. He says further that when we mirror Jesus’ humility, mercy, forgiveness and loving correction, we show that we are of Christ and His power is within us. Phil. 1:9-11; 1 Pet. 2:12). Are you imitating Christ? Is the power or spirit of Christ Jesus dwelling in you? Offences will surely come. The grace of God is equally sufficient and available for you to overcome.
Point of Emphasis: Mirror Jesus’ humility, mercy, forgiveness and loving correction.
Prayer Point: With humility, I receive the grace to imitate Christ in forgiving all that trespass against me.
