Desire To Counter Conflict
Eccl. 10:12-14
As long as human beings continue to exist, communication will never cease. People communicate with one another at various degrees and with different styles. The writer of our passage today admonished believers to desire not to indulge in conflict in their conversation. This is to be taken as a lifelong duty because of its vitality. Please ruminate on these salient points: Anytime, including conflict time, (i) to let your word win favour (verse 12a) (ii) Don’t talk foolishly and end up with crazy things like a fool (v. 13) (iii) Always bear in mind what will be the consequence of your utterance knowing that soft words bring encouragement. There is no need for rebuttal that cannot produce peaceful co-existence among believers, desist from it.
Point of Emphasis: Believers should desist from conversations that will not produce happiness among them.
Prayer Point: Let my conversation produce joy among the brethren, oh God.
