Live In Harmony

1 Pet. 3:8-11

The final admonition here is, “all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.” Christians’ lips should not harm other people even after having suffered insult. Whosoever loves life and desires to see good days must keep his tongue from speaking deceit, and seek peace and pursue it. This does not presume the absence of differences but rather the determination to live peacefully despite the obvious differences. Whether in the church or in a family relationship, believers need to pursue peace with one another i.e., do things that bring and promote peace. Learn to accept and tolerate each other; learn to play down on each other’s weaknesses but celebrate each other’s strengths, settle your conflicts as soon as they occur, and avoid potential cause(s) of conflict.

Point of Emphasis: Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.

Prayer Point: Oh Lord, help me to live in peace with all men.
