Be Patient In All Things
1 Thess. 5:12-15; Eph. 4:2
The Christian journey is a race in patience, where waiting is more effective and does more than rushing and where the understanding and acknowledgment of process helps guide and guard against frustration and backsliding. That Christ will come is certain and can’t be compromised and thus we must patiently and circumspectly wait for His coming. There are many things which our vain curiosity desires to know which there is no necessity at all of our knowing nor would our knowledge of them do us good. But it is better to always be prepared patiently improving our lives so that His coming wouldn’t catch us unawares. We must not sleep nor let down our guard against sin and must keep our natural desires and appetites after the things of this world within due bounds. Part of what we are to do as we prepare is also to consider others and be patient with them. We should not only be careful about our own comfort and welfare, but to promote the comfort and welfare of others also. We must try to mentor, develop and patiently keep pace with younger brethren who cannot see what we see nor do what we can do spiritually.
Point of Emphasis: We should not only be careful about our own comfort and welfare, but promote the comfort and welfare of others also.
Prayer Point: O Lord grant me grace to be patient in my dealings with others.
