Conditions For Good Admonition
Rom. 15:13-16
When a person is in a difficult situation or dilemma, many people will offer admonition – both solicited and unsolicited. Most of such admonitions do not come from people who have thought the matter through or who have good knowledge of the matter. It is not surprising therefore that most of the admonitions are not useful and sometimes compound the matter further. Good admonition comes from a person who is full of goodness, that is, has his life based on the truth of God’s word and not on cultural values or societal norms. The life of the person must portray the beauty of holiness and brotherly love. Secondly, the person must be someone knowledgeable about the matter on hand and not someone who just speaks out a brain wave. From whom do you seek admonition? Is it from just anyone or from a godly, knowledgeable person?
Point of Emphasis: Godly admonition comes from a person full of goodness and filled with all knowledge.
Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus, I receive the wisdom to know which admonition to take in every situation.
