He Took My Place That I May Take His Place
Gal 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:14, 15
The Lord’s death on the cross has many significance to mankind. Jesus’ death and His resurrection means we do not need to pay for our sins anymore. His death and resurrection means restoration and redemption for mankind. Through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave, we have a renewed relationship and fellowship with the Father. The fellowship and relationship we lost in the Garden of Eden is now restored. As many that can key into this have another great advantage; they can live for God. This is why man was made initially – to live for God. He took my place and died for me, I must take His place and live for Him. One hymn says “I live for Him who died for me, how happy then my life shall be…” Until we stop living for ourselves and begin to live for Jesus, we cannot find fulfillment here on earth. The essence of getting born again is to live for God here on earth and reign with Him eternally. Every child of God must aspire to achieve these. Jesus took my place to pay for the penalty of my sin so that I might take His place in living for Him (Phil. 1:21). This must drive our lives and guide our choices.
Point of Emphasis: Until you start living for God, you have not started living
Prayer Point: Lord, help me to live a fulfilled, satisfactory life in Jesus name
