Manifestation Of Holy Character
Jn. 14:26, Col. 5:22-26
The most important thing about the Holy Spirit is that He is Holy. You must therefore be holy. Richard Baxter was an enthusiastic advocate of preachers preaching to themselves. “Preach to yourselves first,” he admonished, before you preach to the people, preach to yourself. He maintained that every Christian should plead with his or her own heart in the most moving and affecting language and urge it with the most weighty and powerful arguments. You need to take your completed sermons and earnestly and passionately preach them to yourselves first! Heeding your own admonitions and allowing the Spirit to work on your own hearts before you bring the message to the people. This will prepare you to preach with greater passion and surrender to the Holy Spirit. The manifestation of Christ Holy character in believer’s life is what matters most. Live a holy life.
Point of Emphasis: What matters most in the life of a believer is the manifestation of holy character.
Prayer Point: Lord, help me to witness to others about You and remove every hinderance and create in me holiness and passion to preach Your word.
