Keeping Oneself Pure

Eph. 5:1-8

We live in an age where pre-marital sex and extra-marital sex have become acceptable. The society has shifted its moral grounds so as to accommodate fornication and adultery. Some churches have also modified their theology to make fornicators and adulterers feel welcomed. God has not altered His standard concerning family relationship and sex. He has declared that He will judge fornicators and adulterers. One of the weapons that Satan uses to undermine family life is sex outside of marriage. Premarital sex destroys the foundation of the family – unwanted pregnancies culminating sometimes in abortion; sexually transmitted diseases brought into the family; distrust between family members and agony of separation; etc. God’s command is for each person to keep himself pure and free of sexual impurity.

Point of Emphasis: To avoid problems in marriage, flee all forms of sexual immorality.

Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, help our youth to long to keep themselves pure before marriage.
