Writing To Correct Behaviour

1 Cor. 1:11; 3:3-4; 11:17-22; 14:33,40

Paul wrote 1 Corinthians in response to troubling reports he had heard and letters he received from them. Corinth was a tough place to be a Christian, as the city was known for its temple prostitutes and low moral standards. Some of the problems Paul addressed include: divisions in the church, a case of incest, members suing other members, confusion at church services and more. Sadly, many members in Corinth were filled with arrogance and pride about their knowledge and spiritual gifts. Paul powerfully explained why their pride needed to be replaced with love. “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up” (1 Cor. 8:1,)

Paul had to take a corrective tone with the Corinthians in his first epistle. But in 2 Corinthians he expressed appreciation that many of them had responded.

Point of Emphasis:     Let your behaviour agree with the Scriptures.

Prayer Point:              Lord, help me to be totally transformed according to your words that I learn.

  • Good day people of God,
I live in a town outside Nigeria where there is no GOFAMINT and so I have been enjoying morning devotion/Sunday school guide for the past two months on this forum, but it has not been posted for a week now. Please. I would like to plead with the concerned authority to please help fix whatever is wrong. May the Almighty God Himself reward you for the good works.
    Thank you.

    • Thank you very much for your comment. We are through with the Lesson for the quarter and last week was meant for revision.

  • Alright. Thanks for the clarification
