Labour For The Spiritual Good Of All

Matt. 20:20-28

James and John were ambitious to reach the top possibly to exert authority or rule over others. But Jesus affirmed that those who exercise dominion and authority in this world are considered great but in the kingdom of God, greatness is not measured by authority on others but by giving oneself in service. Jesus paid the ransom to deliver mankind from sin’s dominion and its consequences. Believers must give their lives in helping others and labour for their spiritual advancement. Be humble to serve for the spiritual good of all people. In God’s economy, the greater you serve, the greater influence you have in their lives. It is not easy to serve people but its benefits are numerous. Make efforts to serve others, you will see how God will repay you.

POINT OF EMPHASIS: Don’t be ambitious to get to the top to be served but be ready to serve others like Jesus.

PRAYER POINT: Help me Oh Lord to place my priority right to labour for the spiritual good of the souls of men.
