Meekness of Christ in Paul
2 Cor. 10:1-6
Paul was specially called by God and commissioned to carry the gospel to the Gentiles. He diligently fulfiled the mandate God gave him and became the founder of several churches. But some in the congregation challenged his spiritual authority and despised his personality. While he labored among them to found the churches and in all his relationship with the churches, he demonstrated meekness. He was gentle with them as he nurtured them spiritually. His reaction to those who opposed his authority was that of gentle correction while reminding them that his weapon was not carnal but mighty through God to deal with insubordination. A meek person also shows his displeasure to those who oppose him without losing his control. You only know a person’s personality when he is put in position of authority.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: Deal with people with the meekness and gentleness of Christ.
PRAYER POINT: Father, grant me the grace to live with the meekness and gentleness of Christ.
