After Death Is Judgement
Rev. 20:11-15
According to Catholic theology, Purgatory is a place that Christians’ souls go to after death to be cleansed of the sins that had not been fully sacrificed for during life time. This doctrine is absolutely incorrect and confusing because it indicates that Jesus’ death was not a perfect, complete and sufficient sacrifice. On the issue of life, death and judgement, the Bible (the word of God) has the final say and should be believed. Apostle John in today’s passage recorded some details of the final judgement. Regardless of how you choose to interpret the Prophesy of the end time, the Bible expressly told us ‘It is appointed onto man once to die but after this judgement’ Heb. 9:27. The first thing to understand about this Judgement is that it can’t be avoided. Secondly, you can be sure that no mistake will be made in the hearings because we will be judged by a perfect, just and fair God. Matt. 5:48, 1 Jn.1:5; Gal. 3:28. Thirdly, God can’t be deceived. He cannot be swayed by any prejudice, excuses or lies. Lk. 14:16-24. God the son will judge. Our fate is in our hands. The end of our soul’s journey will either be eternal heaven or eternal hell. We must choose where we would be by accepting or rejecting the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf.
Point Of Emphasis: It is appointed unto men to die once but after this judgement.
Prayer Point: Oh Lord, I accept Your sacrificial death for me. Please let me end my Christian journey with You in eternal heaven in Jesus’ wonderful name.
