God Gives Grace To The Humble
1 Pet. 5:5-11
Meekness is a human character of being quiet, gentle and submissive. The meek easily yield to God’s commands and directives. They are also gentle in their interaction with other people. When provoked, they are able to control their emotion, sometimes remaining silent or sometimes return soft answer. This does not portray a weak character, but strong character put under control. Meekness and humility are closely related and walk side by side. The proud finds it difficult to follow God’s instructions and is head-strong. Those who lack meekness set themselves up against God’s authority; just as Satan did in his rebellion against God, and was cast out of heaven. Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD. On the other hand, God gives grace to those who are humble.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: God resist the proud, but gives grace to and helps those who are meek.
PRAYER POINT: I humbly surrender myself under Your authority, God, grant unto me the grace to obey You.
