Empowered by the Holy Spirit
Acts 1:4-8
Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He had promised His disciples and those who believed in His name the power of the Holy Spirit. The fulfilment of this, made the early disciples to witness the gospel with all boldness. Signs and wonders were demonstrated through them. Individuals in the body of Jesus Christ need power to live a successful, productive and impactful Christian life. At rebirth we received a measure of power to become God’s children (Jn. 1:12) but as we make progress and confront challenges on the journey of faith, we inevitably feel the need for real power. Jesus our Lord knew this and promised the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The church was instructed to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit before venturing out on the great commission. For the church to experience victory, Jesus equipped His church with the power of the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost, the erstwhile timid Peter boldly preached the word and over 3,000 souls were saved. For the church to continue to grow and glow, there is need to re-enact the Pentecost experience. God is willing to baptize His children with the fire of the Holy Spirit again.
Point of Emphasis: You need the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest.
Prayer Point: Lord, baptize me with Your power again!
