Be Patient
Jam. 5:6-9
Patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit listed in Gal. 5:22. Patience implies longsuffering, endurance and tolerance. It is the ability to endure a long wait calmly or deal with annoying problem without frustration. It is a virtue that can be cultivated and nurtured over time with the help of the Holy Spirit. A Christian must possess this virtue in order to be like Jesus. The practice of condemning people through jungle justice without any form of trial whatsoever is a rampant occurrence in our society today. Many have lost their lives and properties as a result of this sad occurrence. Impatience has caused many, even Christians, to fall victim of wrongly condemning others, thereby “killing the just”. It is pertinent to always remember that the coming of the Lord draws nearer than ever, and that believers must patiently wait for Him and live righteously.
Point of Emphasis: Be patient in pronouncing judgment on others because you will be judged by the same measure.
Prayer Point: O Lord, give me the spirit of patience in dealing with people and in judging matters.
