God Dwells With Contrite And Humble Spirit
Isa. 57:15-16
In order to walk in fellowship with God, one has to realise that one has fallen short of the righteous standard of God. Many people, both within and outside the church, are complacent about their spiritual state. They believe they are alright because they are ethically better than most of the people around them. They scoff at God’s laws and ignore the call to repentance. Such spiritual pride is an abomination before God. But those who are of contrite spirit realise how far they have fallen short of God’s standards. They readily and whole-heartedly confess their sins, seeking forgiveness. It is such contrite and humble spirit that draws God’s attention. God draws such people to Himself and comforts them in their distress.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: God dwells in the high and holy place with him who has a
contrite and humble heart.
PRAYER POINT: Father, fill us with the spirit that fears You, so that we may be of
contrite heart always.
