Mourning For The Only Son
Zech. 12:10-14
The prophecy of what the Jews would do to the Messiah when He came into the world was given long before His coming. They would reject Him and get Him killed. What sin can be greater than rejecting the Savior sent by God to reconcile men to Him, and then getting Him killed. For millennia after the crucifixion of the Savior, the Jewish race had persisted in rejecting the Messiah. To bring to pass God’s covenant with Abraham, He is going to pour upon the Jews a spirit that will bring them to repentance of their unbelief, their rejection of the Messiah and their part in the crucifixion. The mourning over their sin will be nationwide and will involve everyone. The repentance will open a door to forgiveness and deliverance from damnation.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: The whole Jewish nation will mourn over the rejection of
the Messiah.
PRAYER POINT: Father, pour upon our nation the spirit of grace and
supplication to bring us to repentance.
