Miracles Promote Church Growth
Jn. 4:48-54
Growth is a sign of a growing church where miracles happen. A church where the membership constantly experience undeniable genuine miracles will grow rapidly. When miracles occur from time to time, it boosts the faith of members and attracts people to join the church. In verse 48 of our text for today, Jesus Himself said “Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe”. In verse 53, it is recorded that the nobleman whose son was healed believed and the whole of his house. After the healing of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate, the number of believers increased. Jesus has given power and authority to the church to do miracles in His name while preaching the gospel. Those who receive miracles from God will rarely forsake Him. The important lesson in today’s devotional text is that miracles are a key factor in church growth. Miracles have not ceased to happen and we can be beneficiaries as well. You must always pray for signs and wonders to happen in our churches. They are an attestation to the reality of the presence and power of God in your lives.
Point of Emphasis: God is still working miracles.
Prayer Point: Lord, confirm Your word with signs and wonders in our midst.
