Relating With Unruly Members

2 Thess. 3:6-15

The Christian should be an example to both believers and unbelievers in the manner he conducts himself – the way he behaves, the way he speaks. Paul was a golden example to his converts. Sometimes a believer starts to behave disorderly – living in sin, disobeying godly instructions, associating with ungodly people, etc. Such disorderly conduct could bring disrepute to the name of the Lord and disrupt the smooth running of the church. It could also send wrong signal to younger Christians who may think that a life of sin is acceptable within the church. A Christian in good standing should first warn such unruly brethren and try to correct them. If they refuse to repent and turn a new leaf. The Christian should withdraw from them, because bad association corrupts good manners.

Point of Emphasis: Withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to biblical tradition.

Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus, we cast out every spirit that promotes unruly behaviour in our church.
