Be Patient In Affliction
Rom. 12:12; 2 Cor. 4:16-18
Our relationship with others and the situation we experience serves as proving ground to gain credibility. We must be determined as Christians to influence others positively by choosing to emulate our Lord Jesus who is long-suffering. This will occur when we develop good intimacy and trust in Him. Just like our Lord Jesus Christ, persecution, tribulation, afflictions, and trials will constantly come our way as we journey along, just as the Saviour said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation.” (Jn. 16:33). Patience in affliction and adversity means to persist firmly and never forsake that which we know to be true, standing firm with the hope that in the Lord’s due time, we will gain an understanding of that which we do not understand now and which causes us suffering. When you know that God has a detailed plan and purpose for your life and that He wants to be glorified in your life, you are going to endure the difficulties. Believe that if He keeps you waiting even until midnight, He will still come at the right time; the vision will come and not delay. Wait in quiet patience, not rebelling because things are difficult, but blessing your God for the privilege of affliction and be joyful in hope.
Point of Emphasis: Passing through afflictions reforms the heart and makes us stronger than we can ever imagine.
Prayer Point: Lord, make me strong to endure afflictions.
