Strive To Know God’s Way Not Only His Acts
Exo. 20:18-21
Some Christians behave like the children of Israel who didn’t want God to speak directly to them but through an intermediary. These are people who go to prophets that will pray for them and see visions for them. Instead to strive to be mature spiritually and become their own prophets, they remain as scavengers contractor. No desire to know God’s way, they only want to enjoy his mighty acts. Moses was able to stay with God and hear God speak to him because he knew God’s way and he walked in it. He was holy and righteous because he understood that those are the characters of God. No wonder the psalmist says, ‘God made His way known to Moses and His acts to the children of Israel (Ps. 103:7). Knowing God’s way is better than experiencing His acts because His way will be permanent but His acts are temporary.
Point of Emphasis: Let God’s ways you know make you move closer to Him.
Prayer Point: Lord, show me Your ways more perfectly.
