Purpose of Commandment – Pure Heart
1 Tim. 1:3-11
There are all manners of teachers and preachers who propound philosophies which attract majority of people. Many societies are making their laws so elastic in order to accommodate all manners of lifestyles which the Bible declares as sinful. There is a large number of “Christians” who profess to belong to God and to be obedient to His commands. But in fact all they do is to make external show of their profession without heart-deep commitment to God’s laws. God’s standards have not changed; the purpose of His commandments is for His children to love with a pure heart, from a good conscience and from sincere faith. God detests mere outward show of piety or love. He wants actions of love and piety to come out of a heart devoid of pollution of sin. Sin pollutes the heart and makes one’s actions abominable before God.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: The purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience.
PRAYER POINT: I receive the grace for my actions to arise from a heart free from the pollution of sin.
