God’s Steward Must Be Of Good Conduct
Tit. 2:1-8
The highest incentive for doing God’s will is a strong desire to please God. We may have other worthy motives as anticipation of getting heavenly rewards, living a comfortable life and reaching the highest peak of our profession. But we bring the greatest glory to God when we obey Him and do what brings Him delight. A faithful steward must practice sound Biblical doctrines because they are good and holy. They make members fit in the service of God (verse 1). The guidelines here apply to the old, young, men and women and to the preacher. Take to the one that belongs to your age so that you can adhere to the truth of the gospel and for you not to be found wanting. For you to have influence on others and for your preaching to have positive effect, conduct yourself well both in your conversation, dressing and lifestyles. Note that any defect in these areas is a great blemish and hindrance to your reputation. With God’s help live above reproach. Enemies would be seeking occasion to find anything amiss in your conduct, don’t allow them to speak evil of you.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: Let your life correspond with Biblical sound doctrine.
PRAYER POINT: I receive grace through the Lord Jesus Christ to live a life that is worthy of Christ.
