Don’t Turn God’s Blessing To Idol
Exo. 32:1-6
When the children of Israel were about to get out of Egypt, God instructed them to go to their Egyptian neighbours and ask for articles of silver, gold and clothing and they had favour of the people and were given those things (Exo. 12:35-36). Therefore, the golden earrings which they had in the wilderness was a blessing from God. Instead of them to remain ever grateful to God for their deliverance, they turned around to use those blessings to make a molten calf which they now regarded as their god. How many Christians have turned God’s blessing, promotion, breakthrough, achievement, etc, in their career to idols? What is expected to draw them closer to God is now repelling them away from God. This is not right and those affected must make amends.
Point of Emphasis: Serve the Giver of your blessings not the gift.
Prayer Point: Lord, grant me the grace to use all that You give me to serve You all the days of my lifetime.
