God Still Speaks To His Children

Isa. 42:18-25

Many Christians run from one prophet to another and from one mountain to another in search of divine direction. The quest to hear from God concerning particular situations is as if God is ever silent and it takes much effort to make Him to speak. But God still speaks to His children; in fact, He loves to communicate with them to guide, direct, instruct and sometimes rebuke them. In times past, He spoke through His prophets but these days He has spoken through His Son, Jesus Christ and through several other ways. The unfortunate thing is that most Christians are dull of hearing and have not learnt to hear from Him. God’s servants and messengers, who are expected to hear clearly and see perfectly when God is communicating, are described as deaf and blind. In such a case it is not surprising that many spiritual babes are tossed to and fro in the Church. When last did you hear God speak to you?

Point of Emphasis:        Spiritual deafness is a deadly disease that can make a child of God a lawful captive.

Prayer Point:            Open my ears that I may hear when you speak to me, oh God.
