Suffering That Brings Glory

Rom. 8:12-18

The song of many Christians is “Me, I no go suffer, I no go beg for bread”. Yes this is good because suffering is not palatable. But the truth is that Christianity is not bread and butter. There will be moments of sacrifices (sacrificial giving) to God’s work and to the people of God. And the Bible says only those who suffer with Christ here on earth (through being reproached for Christ, enduring hunger and thirst, being despised, ridiculed and persecuted for Christ without crying, etc) are qualified to be glorified together with Christ. Moses endured the sufferings in the wilderness with the people of God and was later glorified.

Point of Emphasis:      You have an enduring glory if you endure the present sufferings.

Prayer Point:               Lord, my present challenge will not rob me of the glory awaiting me.
