Beware Of Backsliding
Heb 3: 12-19
The possibility of a believer missing God’s promised rest is illustrated by the Israelites who failed to enter the promised land after Moses had led them out of Egypt. The writer pointed out that after the Israelites had witnessed God’s mighty works, they were disobedient because they did not believe God’s promises and they did not yield to His warnings. Therefore, they were destroyed in the wilderness. Our initial glorious experience of salvation does not guarantee our safe arrival into eternal rest. We should beware of backsliding.
