Agree With Your Adversary
Matt. 5:21-26, 38-42
When Jesus was teaching the disciples about the meanings and applications of the Old Testament law on loving one’s neighbour, He knew that to be in hostility with, or to go to law court with one’s neighbor is a violation of that law. Therefore, he advised that when you are in a matter with anyone and you discover that he or she wants to take the case to the law court, it is better you settle with him or her quickly. In view of the legal system in Nigeria, this advice is the best for all Christians. Otherwise, the adversary may bribe his way through and ensure you are thrown into the prison, though you are innocent. If care is not taken, such a Christian may have spent all his or her fortune on the case and at the end of the day still be the loser on all sides. Why can’t you then settle the matter without going to court?
Point of Emphasis: If anyone wants to sue you and take away your inner cloth, give him both your inner and outer clothes to avert trouble.
Prayer Point: Give me the grace, Lord, to heed Your advice this morning.

ACCORDE-TOI PROMPTEMENT AVEC TON ADVERSAIRE
MATTHIEU 5 :21-26 ; 38-42
Quand Jésus enseignait à ses disciples au sujet des significations et des applications de la loi de l’Ancien Testament portant sur l’amour du prochain, il savait qu’être hostile à son prochain ou aller devant une cour de justice avec son prochain est une violation de cette loi. Il avisa donc que quand il y a une affaire entre toi et quiconque et que tu découvres que la personne veut intenter un procès contre toi, c’est mieux d’arranger promptement l’affaire avec elle en vue du système juridique au Nigeria. Ce conseil est le meilleur pour tous les chrétiens. Autrement, l’adversaire pourrait graisser la patte de quelques-uns et s’assurer que tu es jeté en prison, quoique tu sois innocent. Si l’on n’y prend garde, un tel chrétien pourrait dépenser toute sa fortune sur le procès et enfin de compte être de tous côtés perdant. Pourquoi ne pas alors régler l’affaire sans aller devant un tribunal ?
Point essentiel : Si quelqu’un veut plaider contre toi et prendre ta tunique, donne-lui tes vêtements internes et externes pour éviter le pétrin.
Axe de prière : Accorde-moi la grâce, Seigneur de prendre en considération ton conseil ce matin.
